After finding a terrific 40/1 winner (60.0 on Betfair) called Prince Of Johane on Saturday I will be returning to betting against horses to win this afternoon. These are the ones I want to 'lay' on the exchanges this afternoon:

The big betting race of the day is the Betfred Cambridgeshire, run at Newmarket at 3.50pm (BST). This highly competitive end of season handicap has proved a reliable springboard for future Group race performers.

These are the best "lays" this afternoon.
5.15 Wolverhampton
I will be laying GREEK SECRET in this. He does not have very good form on the all-weather (2 places from 15 runs) and trainer Paul Midgely's horses are not running that well . I will be laying it at anything under 3.0 on Betfair's Place Market.
5.20 Newmarket
I can't back the Brian Meehan-trained VITA LIKA here and will be laying it in the Betfair Win Market at anything under 5.0. Although it didn't do too badly on the Newmarket July Course over 1m in Aug, and it is lightly-raced, I think it will find one or two too good today.
BR Betting Advice:
£50 lay Greek Secret in the 5.15 Wolverhampton at under 3.0 on Betfair (Place Market)
£50 lay Vita Lika in the 5.20 Newmarket at 4.5 on Betfair (Win Market)

These are the horses I will be laying on Betfair today:
5.50 Perth
I don't fancy SIR JOHNSON at all and will be laying him on Betfair at 4.5 in the Win Market. Although he's won his last two races he faces a double penalty and on good to soft ground, which he has never raced on before, he is worth taking on.
8.30 Wolverhampton
There isn't a great deal of market confidence behind the favourite ASAID. and at the price I will be betting against it in the Win Market. The form from its first run, when it finished 2nd to Cops And Robbers, has not worked out and I think there are others in this race who can certainly give him a race. Lay at the price.
BR Betting Advice
£50 lay Sir Johnson in the 5.50 at Perth on Betfair at 4.5 (Win Market)
£50 lay Asaid in the 8.30 Wolverhampton on Betfair at 3.0 (Win Market)
I will be trying to make £50 on each race by laying, ie betting against, the horses listed here. Sometimes I will be betting against them to win the race (Win Market), and other times not to make the frame (Place Market). I will never recommend a "lay" above the 8.0 mark (7/1 in fractional odds).

These are the horses I will be laying on Betfair today.
3.45 Goodwood
I think the favourite, DEBUSSY, is worth laying here. He has never raced on genuine soft ground which he gets today in Sussex and although he is a class animal, winning last year's Arlington Million and running into a place in the Champion Stakes, he is nothing like as good as that this year. Could find one or two too good today.
4.20 Goodwood
There is enough uncertainty about the favourite BILLY BUTTONS here for me to want to take him on in his first handicap. For example, he is not guaranteed to like the soft ground and although he looks capable of winning this on paper I think he is a lay at the current Win Market price of 4.4.
BR Betting Advice
£50 lay Debussy in the 3.45 Goodwood at 3.3 on Betfair (Win Market)
£50 lay Billy Buttons in the 4.30 Goodwood at 4.4 on Betfair (Win Market)
I will be trying to make £50 on each race by laying, ie betting against, the horses listed here. Sometimes I will be betting against them to win the race (Win Market), and other times not to make the frame (Place Market). I will never recommend a "lay" above the 8.0 mark (7/1 in fractional odds).
